In September, along with Prisoners' Legal Services and other criminal justice organizations, we testified before the Massachusetts Public Safety Committee in support of protecting in-person visitation in prisons and jails. We're pleased to report that the Massachusetts Senate made these protections part of their new justice reform bill, which it passed last week.
The fight isn't over yet, however, since the House is now set to introduce their own criminal justice bill in two weeks. Stay tuned for more on our fight to protect in-person visits from the harmful video calling industry.
