Bureau of Prisons, don't trample families' financial privacy protections

Families of incarcerated people are some of the poorest families in the country, and they are often exploited with high phone rates and abusive banking fees.

Now, the Bureau of Prisons is considering trampling families' financial privacy. The Prison Policy Initiative, along with Dēmos, Human Rights Defense Center, and the National Consumer Law Center, submitted a letter explaining why the proposed rule is a bad idea.
